Monday night, Melbourne’s sky flashed, growled and opened up. Sheets of water were dumped. Before daylight Miss 5 had hopped into bed with us with about 6 comfort items; her soft toys and blankies.
This morning the school run included a flume ride for the kids. We parted the water with two giant side sprays as we went through. At school pickup, the back road was still a lake, especially in the dips.

That was QUITE a downpour! I hope the drains weren’t too blocked!
Wow! We do get floods here at times, especially now during monsoon season. Glad your house remained dry!

You must have had heaps of rain, the road is like a river!
Wow!! I must live under a rock, didn’t realise that Melbourne had storms like that. Crazy weather everywhere at the moment. Hope everything dries out soon
whoa!! that would have been a cool school ride for the kids.. not so much for the car!!!
That looks like some storm and a bucket load of rain.
OMGoodness!! That’s a lot of rain!
Boyo loves when the Welshman swerves through the massive puddles on the side of the road! It doesn’t really work when in my little hatchback and not in his 4WD!
Wow the weather is crazy everywhere this week!! Great photos!!
I guess that trip to school will be the topic of conversation for the rest of the week.
how deep is that water! the weather is shocking lately-all over the place
Ah yes, I remember how Melbourne used to flood when I lived down there….
The kids must have enjoyed that ‘special’ ride to school. The storms in Brisbane recently had my boys all excited. Now the little one thinks its going to hail every time it gets a little overcast.
